That moment when you first wake up and you have no idea where you are, but you know you will find out sooner or later and hear stories of what you’ve done the night before so you take a picture of it because you know it will be funny and you want to remember it for a while.

My newest work in the altered sketch book. This is the journal my room mate Jackie bought me for Christmas.

Been working a little bit more on one of my altered sketch books tonight. I really wanted to get a page done every two nights but I’ve learned that a) I’m really lazy, and b) you can’t rush art.

This is a water color that I painted for class, I’m pretty sure I got a really good grade on it even though it took me forever. I wish I still had the reference picture for it but I don’t. It actually really looks like the picture even though the original picture was printed off in black and white so I just made up the colors as I went. In the picture, there was writing all over the walls but I couldn’t really make anything out all the way so when it was done drying, I passed it around the class and everyone wrote what they wanted to on it. I’m not going to lie, a lot of what it says now is dumb, but I guess that’s what I get for doing that. It was just a random picture f some band I’ve never heard of backstage. I will not hesitate to sell this one. Here is a close up.

A couple of days ago, one of my facebook friends asked if he could ever buy some of my pieces, and I had never hardly thought of doing that before but I said yes. It kind of prompted me to post this picture. THIS IS NOT MY WORK, though I kind of wish it was because I think it’s really cool. It’s a spray painted painting done by a guy named Matthew Russell. It’s called Rock Candy and on the back, it says it was finished in 2011. He had a table set up in the hallways in my first college selling his art work. And I really just wanted to say that if you like art, if you are interesting in buying art work, you should really check out and support your local artists first. Always.

This is a graphite drawing I started in sixth grade and finished in eighth grade. I think it was the first bigger picture I had done when I realized I can actually be pretty good at shading. All of it is graphite, even the background.

This is a painting of a flower I did when I was six. It won awards in an art contest and was hung up on Art Of The Square in Kokomo. My father and step mom had it hanging up in the sewing room for so long that the sun discolored the paper I used for the boarder. I honestly don’t know why I still have this, I just think it’s cute.

This is a very basic water color I started a couple months ago. This was the first thing I started on when I really got back into creating art again, even though I was still writing a lot. It’s not finished, not even close. I wanted to end up turning it into some sort of collage but was stumped on what I should do with it or what the theme should be. It’s just a bunch of abstract mountains all lumped together. If anyone has any suggestions or want to help me with it, let me know.

This is by far my favorite water color painting I have ever done. We were studying still lives and had the option of setting up our own table’s still life and painting it with any medium we wanted. We had just finished using water color and I kind of fell in love with it and didn’t want to give it up so I used water color. I went back after it was all dried to add some of the very dark lines with a black marker, though I forget what kind of marker it was. I used a watering can, a tree branch, a brown glass jar, and various fruit for my still life.

Here, is a water color painting I also did in my sophomore year of high school. We were finishing up using water color by studying Winslow’s famous paintings of boats or the shore and then creating one of our own. My favorite part was the sky. I added more shading after it dried using white and black colored pencils.
